We recently had this ‘Crayon Grey’ 2018 Porsche 911 (991.2) Carrera 4S in with us for Xpel Ultimate Plus full front end Paint Protection Film (PPF). Usually, PPF is applied to brand new cars or cars with very little mileage as it can only take a few journeys before they start picking up unsightly stone chips. This 911 however, had recently been in for paint work to rectify this. After advising the customer fresh paint would need 4-6 weeks to cure or ‘gas out’ before applying PPF to avoid future issues, our client managed to keep miles to a minimum and avoid chips before bringing it in to us for the PPF.

We used Xpel Ultimate Plus film on this Porsche, which is an optically clear, self healing, gloss finish film to match the original paint finish. Using Xpel’s pattern library, we plotted the front end kit (which means no cutting on the car), removed any badges and extended all the edges, allowing us to tuck as many edges as possible for a seamless looking install. This helps in visual appeal, as well as longevity of the film as it eliminates unsightly dirt building up in the edges and reduces the risk of an edge being caught and potentially lifted during washing and maintenance of the vehicle.

Once the film was installed, you’d be hard pushed to notice it was there unless you knew what you’re looking for! The client was very happy with the result and can get back to enjoying his 911 the way it was intended, without worrying about stone chips and debris causing damage to his beloved Porsche.
